FORMER FIRST MATE
For over 20 years we’ve been improving people and improving
business, with remarkable results.
We’re excited to see how we can work with you.

Gill
Principal Psychologist and Partner
Development need (We’re all about learning and feedback – ourselves included!)
Gill is the founder and driving passion behind Cargyll. She’s great at what she does and she’s rather bright with it! As well as having a list of qualifications as long as your arm, she seems to know everyone and has a strong sense of what’s hot and what’s not in leadership.
Gill believes in making psychology ‘real’ and sprinkles the Cargyll Magic over all our offerings. She’s intuitive, warm, upbeat and prides herself on truly making a difference. When she’s not working as a leading psychologist, Gill spends her time being an earth mother, dog whisperer, intrepid explorer and domestic goddess.

Carl
Business Manager & PARTNER
Development need (We’re all about learning and feedback – ourselves included!)
Carl joined Cargyll in 2002 to support the business’ growth and strategic sustainability. He brings humour, energy and some decidedly anorak tendencies to moderate the creative genius of Cargyll. Fastidious about numbers, data, strategy and processes, he keeps us on track, in line, online and in credit!
Carl may be the proud owner of a ‘Do I look like a people person?’ t-shirt, but he is surprisingly likeable and a talented conversationalist (we have yet to find a topic he doesn’t know something about). Carl applies intellect and academic rigour to Cargyll’s projects. A sports physiologist by trade, he brings the ‘body’ based perspective to Cargyll’s ‘mind’ based solutions. Together with Gill, they make a formidable team.

Caz
Operations Manager
Development need (We’re all about learning and feedback – ourselves included!)
Caz is the crucial linchpin between Gill’s creative vision, Carl’s strategic direction and the operational day-to-day running of Cargyll. She oversees our medium and long-term ambitions, and skilfully challenges the Partners’ thinking to ensure we’re always heading in the right direction. Caz co-ordinates all projects and events (which is no mean feat), and has a holistic view of all we have done, are doing, will do and might do!
Bringing tremendous energy, enthusiasm, positivity and fun to Cargyll, Caz thinks with a unique perspective and has a talent for making things happen. She’s also a rather formidable sportswoman and musician. Impressive, huh?

Lucy
Operations Co-ordinator
Development need (We’re all about learning and feedback – ourselves included!)
Lucy is the first point of contact for you, our lovely clients, and is involved in all of our projects at every stage; from inception to completion. Lucy expertly manages Cargyll’s complex choreography of dates, locations, consultants and kit; ensuring that everyone is equipped to do their bit brilliantly. And she makes it all look so effortless!
Genuinely warm, caring and conscientious, Lucy has an infectious passion for learning and she truly cares about doing things the right way. She is a firm favourite at Cargyll HQ for many reasons, not least her talent for baking. Believe us, her incredible chocolate cake is worth fighting over!

Tilly
Head of staff Welfare
Development need (We’re all about learning and feedback – ourselves included!)
Tilly offers cuddles on tap. She is endlessly loving, spritely and is not at all needy. OK, so we may have lied on that last one! Tilly is dedicated to her welfare role, although she does tend to get side-tracked from time to time; by office visitors, other pooches, laps to sit on, the postman arriving, something to chew on, food, noise… you get the idea.
Alongside her official role, Tilly also proudly holds the position of Cargyll’s Diversity Champion; 33% cocker spaniel, 33% poodle and 33% orangutan (she’s an intrepid tree-climber). As well as Cargyll’s Lifetime Achievement rosette for the waggiest tail in the office; just pipping Carl to the post!

Scamp
Head of Happiness
Development need (We’re all about learning and feedback – ourselves included!)
Scamp joined us as Head of Security in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. Ever since the restrictions were lifted and he realised the world was full of actual real people, he has been on a mission to meet and excitedly greet every human. He has since switched roles to become our Head of Happiness and leads the Cargyll Welcoming Committee with his signature waggy tail, high speed circle running and joyful yaps.
His excitement is greatest when he sees squirrels or Caz – she’s lost the odd pair of shoes due to his ongoing area of development. His other loves are sunshine, napping and cuddles… preferably all at the same time!

Ruby
Former first mate
At nearly 15 years old, our dearest Ruby has sadly passed away and we miss her terribly. Whether climbing hills on leadership and team events (and stealing sausage rolls
out of rucksacks!) or being a loving and calming presence in coaching sessions, she lived the Cargyll values of being kind, caring and doing her part to make the world a better place.
Owner of a coat that rendered her impervious to ice, snow, rain, wind, thorns, barbed wire, or anything that the rest of us would find generally uncomfortable, we fondly remember Ruby as half seal, half dustbin.
Her love of food (all food, anytime, anywhere) will always make us smile and her lifelong mission to chase squirrels lives on through Scamp! Her calm, kind and laidback nature was a
tonic for us all. In the midst of a drama, the sight of Ruby sprawled on her back snoozing, belly facing the sunshine, coined the much-used term #bemoreruby!
Lifelong childhood pet, beloved family friend and faithful team mate until the end; rest in peace, dear Ruby.
